Couples wishing to join the Kermis Club typically start the process by coming as the guest of a member couple. For couples finding this website without knowing a Kermis member, you can email the president or the Treasurer to let us know of your interest and we will work to match you with a sponsoring couple. Emails are provided on the Leadership page.
After being a guest at an event, the prospective members may ask their sponsoring members to submit a new member application. The clubs constitution describes the process this way:
“Application for membership in this club shall be proposed in writing
by a sponsoring member. The application shall be endorsed by two
other members and presented to the President of the club who shall
refer it to the Membership Committee for investigation and recommendation.“
Though this process seems daunting, it rarely fails to result in a membership approval. There is a $125 annual membership fee and member couples pay $195 to attend each event and guests pay $210.
The attire at club functions is typically either formal (i.e. a tuxedo for the men) or dressy evening wear. It is often joked that Kermis dinner dances are like a prom for adults. Clothes help make the evening special.
